Falling into Spring

So those of you who know me are aware that I've been falling down. A lot. And we finely have a reason why. I have a pseudo-neurological disorder, created by stress, that results in my legs going out from under me. And I now have to walk with a crutch. I am HORRIBLY embarrassed by this, and am trying to force myself to get over it by just being honest and telling people about it. Hence this blogg post. The good news is that it is NOT a permanent condition, it will eventually go away, but we just don't know when. Also, the condition itself is NOT dangerous, but the results of the disorder (me falling down) are obviously dangerous. Falling hurts. I've been black and blue all over, this morning I fell and smacked my head against the freezer door. The plan for the trip to the US is to have the crutch on the right side, and my Viking on the left side and HOPEFULLY I won't face plant in the middle of a road in downtown Boston. Horray for not being run over by crazy Boston drivers!!!

We fly out on Sunday, and we're excited/nervous/impatient about the trip. It's going to be great to meet my two nieces and to see if my nephew recognizes who I am without a computer screen between us!

We managed to clean the whole apartment this morning so now my job is to chill the hell down and knit as much as I want to. Possibly with popcorn :P

Happy Birthday Little Man!

Today is Mi-Go's birthday! He turns 4 today and I can't believe it, he's a big monster now! I've never encountered a can with as much self confidence, determination, and with SUCH a predisposition for mischief and destruction as Mr. Mi-Go. I love my little man, even if he drives me crazy sometimes. Soon it's time to open up the new catnip mice! Happy Birthday Mi-Go!!!

Sun!

Woke up again at 02.00 and I'm really getting sick of it. The one good thing about it is that I have started to go for walks in the morning before everyone gets up and it's actually really nice. It's still freezing at night, so when I walk it looks like there's glitter covering everything and it's really beautiful in the moonlight.

Today has the makings of a really beautiful day. Our apartment is flooded with sunlight, and I'm actually looking forward to the walk into town to visit Anna and her little girl. I'm hoping my legs will hold up for it. I've started to fall down again, and it does not please me. Yesterday was just down the bottom of the basement stairs so it wasn't so bad, but last week I fell in the living room so hard I actually dented our metal trashcan, got some nice bruises to show for it all. I'm really ready to stop falling down now, OK body? Thanks, I appreciate it :P

In other news, we're getting totally psyched for our trip to the US, it is going to be SO FREAKING GOOD TO SEE MY FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh I miss them so much, and I can't wait to meet my two little nieces and to see my nephew as an actual child and not a baby in a tux like the last time I saw him :)

Also, my watch is broken.

feel the love

So some time ago I lost my wedding ring... Boo...
We searched EVERYWHERE and couldn't find it... Boo... We recruited our neighbors to look for it, they did not find it... Boo... Our wedding rings were ordered from Jerusalem, from a company that was shady enough for me to actually write them an angry letter stating I would never order anything from them again... Boo...
Having nothing on my finger was driving me CRAZY... Boo...

Nils and I always say to each other, "You're my heart". As a tattoo junky it was obvious to me that I needed to get a heart on my ring finger. A "wedding ring" I'd never loose again!

But getting a tattoo on your finger is a big commitment, and I chose the placement and size specificaly for any non-tattoo friendly workplaces I might end up in, for easy coverage with a number of rings that I already own. Ring goes on, no one can see there's a tattoo there, it's basically the same thing as me covering my tattoos by wearing long sleeves.

So I got my new "wedding ring" yesterday afternoon, and am really Really happy with it... Yay!
And my Viking really likes it... Yay!
And I'll never loose it! YAY!!!
And it will never truly replace the ring my beloved Viking put on my finger almost 5 years ago, but I truly feel more at peace now that "my heart" is there on my finger.

Feel the love people, feel the love <3
